Dish Help
Dishes should
be mounted a rigidly as possible. You must pay special attention to safety.
Be careful when working up ladders, do not work in strong wind. Make sure the
dish is fixed properly so that it cannot detach itself and fall on somebody.
The dishes we supply do not come with $KY fixtures, these are sold separately.
You will need to some sort of Signal Strength meter, to set the dish up. Some
meters (ours does) require that you have the Digibox connected and powered up.
Find another Sky dish set-up locally, and point your dish in roughly the same
direction. Adjust the dish to give maximum reading on your meter, and keep adjusting
till you have the absolutely strongest reading you can get. The "SKEW"
(SKEW is the rotational position of the LNB within its holder) of the LNB has
to be set, this cannot be done with our standard satellite signal strength meter.
You must use the "Signal Quality" reading from the "Services/System
Set-up/Signal Test" menu on the Sky Digibox. Start with your LNB in about
the 8-0-Clock position, make the SKEW adjustments in very small amounts, get
the highest reading you can on the "Signal Quality" reading. There
is a time delay between making adjustments and the changes showing up on the
reading, allow about 10 seconds for changes to appear. You can pretty much ignore
the "Signal Strength" reading.
