If you want to receive all of
the FTA (Free To Air) channels, you have two options. If you never want to pay
$KY television for any of it subscription channels, then the best option is
to go for a freesat receiver from Humax, unless you need an RF Output*. If you
think you may want to have some of the $KY pay channels or you do need an RF
Output, then a Pace 2600C1 $KY Digibox is the way to go.

This make & model of Receiver
is the best freesat receiver, for Spain in terms of reception quality. By using
this box, you can reduce the size of the required dish down to a 1.35 Metre
dish (when using a Invacom 0.3dB Twin LNB). You will never be able to receive
any of the $KY pay channels on this receiver, but you will receive all the Free
To Air channels (all the BBC's ITV's etc), including the High Definition channels
for free, and there are no $KY cards to worry about. You will be able to receice
Channel Five, but not be able to receiver FiveUSA and FiveLive with this box.
They also make a version of this receiver, which includes a built in Hard Disk
Recorder, so you get a system that acts in a very similar fashion to the $KY+
system, where you can record programs either "on the fly" or in advance.
Like the $KY+ system, this model does require two feeds/cables from the Satellite
Dish.
$KY Digibox Receiver
In the UK when buying a $KY
package from $KY, they heavily subsidize the price of the system equipment (including
the receiver). Unfortunately you cannot benefit from these discounts when buying
Digiboxes outside of the UK. We supply only 1 model of $KY Digibox, and that
is the Pace 2600C1. This make/model of Digibox is absolutely the best $KY Digibox
for Spain, in terms of reception quality, (do not let anybody tell you different).
By using this box, you can reduce the size of the dish required down to a 1.35
Metre dish (when using a Invacom 0.3dB Twin LNB). Unfortunately the 2600C1 is
now out of production, but we can supply these from a specialist refurbishment
company, direct from the UK with one years RTB warranty, they are not cheap,
but they are the best for Spain. With this box you will receive all the main
UK TV channels without a viewing card of any sort, except for the "Channel5"
channels (although Ch.5 itself can be added to "other channels").
By using a white "FreeSat from $KY" card, you can add all the "Channel5"
channels + a few others including $KY3.
If you want the $KY+ system,
then you will need a minimum of a twin output LNB (use a quad output LNB if
you want to run two $KY+ Digiboxes), These types of receiver require that you
have two cables to connect two of the LNB outputs, to the two inputs on the
PACE $KY+ Digibox. You can upgrade from a Standard $KY Digibox to a $KY+ Digibox
using the existing $KY card you may already have, but you will need to call
$KY from a UK phone number, to marry the card to the new box. We do not supply
$KY+ receivers.

*RF Output is used to hard wire
a television in another location in the house, to the main receiver, and watch
the same program.
