If you want
to receive all of the FTA (Free To Air) channels, the easiest way is to use
a $KY Digibox. In the UK when buying a $KY subscription package from $KY, they
heavily subsidize the price of the system equipment. Unfortunately you cannot
benefit from these discounts when buying Digiboxes outside of the UK. We supply
3 models of Digibox, firstly the PACE DS440N which is the current production
model. It has poor sensitivity, and does not come close to the performance of
the older PACE pace2600C1,
which is sadly out of production. The DS440N needs a minimum of a 1.9M dish
(in this area) and this will give you all of the FTA channels (with a suitable
viewing card) for most of the time. You may lose the odd channel in bad weather.
Proper installation is of course essential. If you manage to get your hands
on a secondhand PACE 2600C1 (which we sell of course) then you can reduce the
dish size to a minimum of 1.35M.
If you want
the $KY+ system, then you will need a minimum of a twin output LNB (use a quad
output LNB if you want to run two $KY+ Digiboxes), These will need two cables
to connect the two LNB outputs, to the two inputs on the PACE $KY+ Digibox.
You can upgrade from a Standard $KY Digibox to a $KY+ Digibox using the existing
$KY card you may already have, but you will need to call $KY from a UK phone
number, to marry the card to the new box.
Remember
nothing improves reception better than a bigger dish.
